There is a map on our contact page
Where can I park?
We have a small car park next to the church, but you can park on the road. Outside of business hours you can park in front of ATS across the road.
How long will the service last?
The Sunday morning service starts at 10.30am and lasts about an hour, sometimes a little bit more.
The Sunday evening service starts at 6.30pm and normally finishes by 7.30pm.
What happens in a service?
When you arrive at Leyland Baptist, there will be people to greet you in the entrance and show you where to go. Each service usually lasts an hour or a bit more and includes a message, prayers, Bible readings and music. All our songs and hymns are displayed on the main screen and we usually stand to sing.
Prayers are often lead from the front, and those who want to, join in with saying the Lord’s Prayer. Sometimes we have ‘open prayer’ – a period of silence for people to pray silently or out loud. Some people find praying out loud quite difficult, so there is no expectation or obligation for everyone to do it. On occasions this means we simply have a time of being silent and still.
Monthly Service Pattern
Each week we try and have a slightly different focus and you can see our pattern of services here. Please do not feel obliged to join in with anything you don’t want to.
What should I wear?
People wear different things. There are no expectations to dress for church – come as informally or formally dressed as you like. Wear whatever you are most comfortable in.
What will my children do?
At Leyland Baptist we believe we are all children of God and a family of believers. We want to worship and learn together. Sometimes that means splitting into different groups and other times staying together in one big group.
Children are welcomed and valued at Leyland Baptist. Please do not feel they must sit still and silent at all times. The sounds of children are welcome to many and remind us of our relationship with God.
At the start of every service they will be in the main worship with everyone else. Depending on what week it is will depend what happens next. On the 2nd and 4th Sunday in the month, which are more traditional service, children leave part way through for activities in the back hall. On other Sundays everyone stays in the same room and participates together. There will always be something tailored to children and designed to help them engage and learn.
