Lots of people think they need to have got their life in order before they can come to church. Or they think ‘church’ is full of huggy do-gooders or judgemental holier-than-thous.
Thankfully everyone at Leyland Baptist is an ordinary person, just like you. We laugh, we cry, we argue, we support each other, and we love God. None of us are perfect and all of us rely on God to keep forgiving us and loving us. None of us have our lives perfectly in order and sometimes we struggle to live the way God wants us to in every aspect of our lives. There are times it’s hard to understand just what it means to follow God, or to trust that God has a plan for us and is always there with us.
Following God and getting to know him better is an adventure. Sometimes it’s scary, challenging, joyful, full of laughter and tears. And it’s an adventure we need to go on together. Church isn’t building, or the institution, it’s the people that follow God. Coming to ‘church’ should be a way of learning, being supported and loved, loving and supporting others, travelling together to know God better, to be changed by him, to realise how much she loves each and everyone of us.
We’d love to welcome you into our adventure.
